Before building illi, Lubna invested in gold jewelry monthly from her paychecks. By the end of her second year, she had sold the collection to buy her first car. That experience, gold as currency, as memory, as something you part with only when you have to, is the foundation of everything illi makes.

Every bespoke commission is led personally by Lubna, from the first conversation to the final object. Each piece begins as a conversation and unfolds over weeks of sketches, materials, and refinement.
