Description
A keepsake box in walnut, its lid worked in pierced brass filigree set over rich carnelian. The interlacing star geometry draws on the Islamic architecture of Andalusia, where the palaces of southern Spain turned repeating pattern into something close to art. Inside, a mother of pearl lining catches the light, warm and iridescent against the dark grain of the wood. More than a place to keep things, it is an object meant to be kept itself, and passed on. Hinged lid with a protective fitting.
